The new Townies Super Local App (available now for download) was designed to further connect “Townies” (that would be you) with local businesses. Here’s how it works. Smartphone users (Apple or Android) download the Townies app, sign in using their free TownePost.com account, and are then able to check-in at local retailers and obtain special discounts or offers. Check-ins appear on TownePost.com and you can share your Facebook and/or Twitter accounts. Local businesses win in many ways:
- Local offers encourage repeat customers
- Check-ins create online social traffic and awareness
- Real-time, paperless offers reduce the need for costly direct mail or newspaper couponing
- Mapping feature shows your offers to Townies in close proximity to your retail location
Townies Super Local App is powered by TownePost.com, Indy’s Networking Hub. In an effort to promote locally-owned businesses, TownePost.com provides a free members-only portal that allows small business owners the ability to post to their free blog, upcoming events, photos, videos, and share updates through Facebook and Twitter. In addition, a free business directory, groups, and forums allows for an ongoing dialogue with locals and your business. Features available through the mobile app include:
- Offers, time-sensitive coupons, and discounts redeemable on location
- Yelp reviews, Open-table reservations, website links, phone numbers, and other information for each business
- Push notifications
- Banner advertising
Like TownePost.com, the Townies Super Local App shares many of the same features:
- Detailed information on featured Indianapolis-area events
- Post photos from your smart phone
- Read news feeds from the TownePost.com network
- Earn points for activity which can be redeemed for local gift cards

After installation, you’ll need to sign up for TownePost.com to begin check-in with local retailers, share reviews, post photos, or get the latest news feeds from the TownePost.com network of hyper local websites! Townies encourages all users to check-in to Indianapolis-area restaurants, bars, and retailers to support your local merchants. For checking in, you’ll be given a special discount or promo.
