Vines for Life Moves Date and Venue to Daniel’s Vineyard

Geist’s preeminent wine, craft beer, and spirits tasting event has moved to the area’s new hotspot for community events – Daniel’s Vineyard.

“We are extremely excited to be hosting our event at Daniel’s Vineyard this year,” says Vines for Life Co-founder, Jeanne Britt. “We have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to host our event here for quite some time. It is a gorgeous venue, easily accommodates our event’s continual growth and is right here at Geist where our event began eight years ago. We think our guests are really going to love the cozy, elegant environment as much as we do, and the venue change has inspired us to try some fun, new ideas.”

Since 2010, the Vines for Life event has raised nearly $200,000 for three Geist cancer charities — Creating Hope, Indy SurviveOars and Team Luke. One hundred percent of the proceeds helps these charities to do what they do best – bring compassion, peace and joy to patients receiving treatment for cancer through art, music, meditation and camaraderie. The 8th annual event is coming up May 11.

“All three charities are 100 percent volunteer-run,” says Tom Britt, Co-founder. “When people get to meet these three charities and see the good they are spreading, they see really quickly why we are so passionate about their causes.”

Daniel’s Vineyard opened April 2017. The family-owned vineyard was started by Daniel and Kimberly Cook and can host more than 300 guests in its upper banquet and an additional 75 on the balcony, which gives a panoramic view of the vineyard.  Downstairs, an expansive tasting room gives visitors a chance to see the production area next to a large community room used to host all sorts of events. Over the last year, the McCordsville facility has become a popular pick for weddings, celebrations, community events and more.

Elite Beverages will once again host the event which begins with a private Sponsor Reception at 6 pm followed by the Tasting event at 7 pm. We will be tasting wines from California and Oregon: Trefethen Family Vineyards, Cakebread Cellars, Black Stallion Winery, Cooper Mountain Vineyards and Mauritson Wines and our own local Daniel’s Vineyard. Also delicious food from local favorites: Stone Creek Dining Co., FoxGardin, Taxman Brewing Co., Murphys Craft House, Ale Emporium and more. Local craft beers with favorites Taxman Brewing Co. and Wooden Bear. On the balcony, Elite Beverages will host a cigar and bourbon bar for those looking to relax and take in the views of the vineyard. Tito’s Vodka will be sampling signature cocktails as well.

Also new this year is a different twist on the silent auction – A “Charity Boutique.” In lieu of bidding on unique items, our guests can shop the items and “buy it now.” “This allows people to enjoy the tastings and socializing without being distracted by bidding on their smartphones,” Jeanne adds.

Parking will be free and attire is casual elegance. Tickets are $75 per person and space is limited to 275 guests. To purchase tickets, visit VinesForLife.org. Daniel’s Vineyard is located at 9061 N. Carroll Rd, McCordsville (northeast corner of 86th and Carroll Roads).
