Volunteers Needed for Blast on the Bridge

The seventh annual Blast on the Bridge festival is coming up and enthusiastic volunteers are needed to help July 4 from 6-10 p.m. The four-hour event takes place on the Fall Creek bridge over the Geist Reservoir near the marina. The event, which draws thousands of people, is completely run by volunteers so all help is appreciated.

This is a great opportunity for friends, family, businesses or students seeking to earn service hours. Volunteers will have fun meeting new people, watching the fireworks show and participating in one of the biggest Geist community events of the year.

“This is our seventh year as a committee, and I am very excited that with that experience comes the ability to anticipate what is most important to our guests at an event like this, and make sure we exceed expectations,” said Lorena Graves, the volunteer coordinator for the event. “As the volunteer coordinator, that also means making sure our volunteers have everything they need to be successful, and have a great time. I am also looking forward to a fourth straight year of perfect weather.”

Volunteers will help with setup as well as greeting guests and helping at the KidsZone. They will also receive a free event t-shirt, parking pass, drinks and pizza.
