Henninger Named Roncalli Alumnus of the Year

The Roncalli High School Alumni Association presented Marian University Head Football coach, Mark Henninger (R ’92), with the 2016 Alumnus of the Year Award on Friday, October 7. This award commemorates service and dedication to Catholic education.

Henninger played football at Roncalli for legendary coach Bruce Scifres’ first two teams in 1990 and 1991 then went on to play defensive back at Wittenberg University. He was named Marian University’s second head coach on January 24, 2013.

In his third season at Marian Henninger led the Knights to the 2015 NAIA Football National Championship over Southern Oregon University. The American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) named him the 2014 and 2015 NAIA Coach of the Year.

Henninger resides in Brownsburg with his wife Jeni, his son Jack and his two daughters Mary and Abby.
