TOWN OF PLAINFIELD DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS RECOGNIZED AS TOP IUPUI ALUMNI

The Town of Plainfield’s Director of Communications and Marketing, Stephanie Singh, has been named a co-recipient for Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) Department of Communications 2020 Outstanding Alumni of the Year. The Department of Communications Studies Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest honor an alumni can receive. The award recognizes alumni of the school who have distinguished themselves professionally.

“This award is no surprise to those of us who work with Stephanie on a daily basis. Her leadership and communication efforts for the Town of Plainfield have been a great benefit not only to our staff, but also the entire community,” says Andrew Klinger, Plainfield Town Manager. “Her talents are clearly on display during this current COVID-19 pandemic, as she has provided our residents with relevant updates and resource information concerning the pandemic while continuing to position Plainfield in a leadership role when it comes to our communication outreach.”

Stephanie Singh was hired in February 2018 as the Town’s Director of Communications and Marketing. After graduating from IUPUI with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, she began her career as a television news reporter. Stephanie worked as a reporter in San Angelo, Texas, South Bend, Indiana and Louisville, Kentucky. She obtained a Master’s Degree in Strategic Public Relations in 2017 from The George Washington University. Stephanie is a 2019 Graduate of Leadership Hendricks County. Singh is the President of the Plainfield International Festival Board, after she helped plan an international festival that brought in nearly 2,000 patrons its first year in 2019. Stephanie also sits on the Main Street Plainfield Board.

“I am honored to be a co-recipient for the 2020 Department of Communications Distinguished Alumni at IUPUI,” Singh says. “My education from IUPUI encouraged me to go out and make a difference. I work alongside some of the best in the public sector and I’m grateful to be here making a difference every single day.
