There’s a little shop in Zionsville village that’s becoming Main Street’s not so secret little secret. Southern Fancy Boutique offers comfortable yet sophisticated ladies clothing. They even carry a line of children’s clothing too.
The shop has been in the village for just two years, but owner Kylei Harness has made it all the rage. Boutiques become popular because of the unique pieces they carry that shoppers can’t find anywhere else. There’s no denying that scoring a unique piece from a boutique and wearing it for the first time is exhilarating. You’ll get that at Southern Fancy Boutique, and you’ll find something even better.
“Our clothing is affordable,” Harness says. “The store’s motto is looks for less. I’m budget conscious like everyone. The key to making clothing popular is making it affordable.”
Harness has definitely succeeded in making her store popular. After just one year in business, she already outgrew her first shop in the village and moved into a 2,500 square foot space last July.
“We’ve got lots of repeat business not just from local shoppers, but people from out of town, even out of state who’ve come,” she says. The personalized customer service is certain to play a part in the store’s success considering Harness is in the store every day.
“I love being here. I really enjoy what I do,” she adds.
The store features everything from fun, comfortable tops to dresses, jeans and accessories. Harness says jumpsuits are the most popular seller at the shop.
“They’re sophisticated yet very comfortable,” she says. Jeans are another top seller at the boutique, and Harness considers them her specialty. Drawing from her previous experience at casual apparel retailer, Buckle, where she was a denim specialist, Harness stocks a variety of stylish jeans.
“Our jeans are stretchy, but they are made of denim, so they’re not jeggings,” she says. “We’ll take the time to find the perfect size for you because you can expect the jeans to stretch a little.” All jeans at Southern Fancy Boutique are mid-rise jeans, ranging from 8 1/4 to 10 1/4.
No fashion-forward female on the hunt for the complete package can possibly walk out of Southern Fancy Boutique without browsing their jewelry. Among the favorites is the collection of bracelets called Bourbon and Bowties, a line of chic, stackable bracelets that every outfit must have. All the bracelets are handmade with stones from around the world.
“People love the stones,” Harness says. “We’re the only retailer in Zionsville that carries them and maybe only one other in the city.”
