Brigadier General Don S. Cornett, Jr., Command Sergeant. Major Debbie Schroder and Colonel Rod Faulk presented F. Paul Ricketts, Mayor of the City of Lawrence, Indiana with a token of their appreciation from the 310th Expeditionary Sustainment Command (ESC) for the city’s long term partnership with the command.

Mayor Ricketts was recognized for his positive support of the military who serve in the community. The Mayor was given the 310th ESC coin and Soldier appreciation gift for the city’s encouragement and support to the command’s Soldiers.

“For almost a century, the City of Lawrence has had a proud history with the military and we continue to have a special connection to the Army Reserve located here in the City” said Mayor Ricketts. “It is our privilege to partner with the Army Reserve to honor the men and women of the 310th Expeditionary Sustainment Command while they are in Iraq and to thank all of those currently serving elsewhere who are doing so much to protect and preserve our freedom.”

The City of Lawrence has its “Blue Star Banner” program, flying banners from the city’s street lights for members of the community who have mobilized and deployed in support of our nation. The City of Lawrence placed a banner honoring the service of the entire 310th ESC.

COL Rod Faulk said of the “Blue Star Banner” program, “I really value the support we have gotten from the City of Lawrence. We have partnered with the city on some projects and the Blue Star Banners honoring the 310th Sustainment Command sends a great message to our deployed warriors and their families. Every unit should enjoy such fantastic support from their community.”

The 310th ESC is located at the former Fort Benjamin Harrison. The unit, which boasts over 250 soldiers, will spend the next year providing logistical support during the drawdown of forces in Iraq. While Brigadier General Cornett provides direction forward, the 310th ESC (Rear) Commander, Col. Rod Faulk, looks forward to working with the Mayor and the City of Lawrence this year and beyond.
