Lawrence North Student, Teacher Honored as Top Volunteers

HelpIndyOnline.com has announced the recipients for the 2008 Student Volunteer of the Year, Educator of the Year, and Partner of the Year Awards.

Kelsey Kennedy, a Lawrence North graduate was chosen as the Student Volunteer of the Year because of her desire to impact her community, her enthusiasm in working with a variety of organizations and causes, and her willingness to engage and inspire others into action.  Rebecca Cash, an English teacher at Lawrence North, was chosen because of her commitment and care for her students, her willingness and ability to collaborate with others, and her vision to engage students in improving and impacting our community.
The awards were presented on June 26th at the MYPassion Awards Breakfast, held on the Butler University campus.  The awards recognize the outstanding efforts of those in the community who use volunteering as a tool for making positive changes in Indianapolis.

“The Emergent Leadership Institute is excited to recognize these individuals who through small steps of their own make a huge impact on our community,” explained Roger Williams, President of the Emergent Leadership Institute, which operates HelpIndyOnline.com.
