National Guard dedicates new armory to fallen soldiers

An audience of active and retired military, law enforcement and Lawrence civic and government leaders gathered to dedicate the Indiana Army National Guard Readiness Center in tribute to those who have served and given their lives for their country. Built on old Fort Benjamin Harrison land at 9920 E. 59th St., the 106,000-square-foot center will be headquarters for the Indiana Guard’s 76th Infantry Brigade Combat Team and home to four other Guard units, with room to accommodate as many as 548 soldiers.
