Students at Crestview Elementary School were special guests at the swearing in of Michael McQuillen, newly-elected City-County Councilman representing District 12, on Tuesday morning. McQuillen chose to have his official ceremony in front of Deb Graudin’s second graders and Gwen Papacek’s third graders, perhaps “Mr. Mike’s” biggest small supporters. McQuillan frequently visits Crestview where his wife, Polly, works on the school’s literacy support team. “I felt a tingling, happy, joyful feeling,” during the ceremony, said third grader Addison Brown who, along with the rest of his class, had visited a nearby polling site with McQuillen on election day.
Councilman McQuillan was sworn in by Alan Rowland, former Lawrence Township School Board member. He is pictured with his wife, Polly, and Rowland.
