Two McKenzie Students are nominated for Awards for Excellence

Allison MetzgerTwo McKenzie Students have beed nominated for the Awards for Excellence for Career and Technical Education. Allison Metzger (Lawrence Central) and Taylor Chenoweth (Lawrence North) are both students interested in a career in engineering.

Both have taken classes from Project Lead the Way and both intend to attend college and get a degree in engineering. Also, Allison and Taylor are members of the McKenzie FIRST Robotics Team 1024–the Kil-a-Bytes. Taylor is the team captain and manages a sub-group of the newest members of the team. Allison is the leader of the Functional group, working with eleven other students to design and build the functional aspects of the robot.

The Award for Excellence is recognition from the State of Indiana of the top ten Career and Technical students in the state. Winners will be selected and recognized by the State in February. Good luck Taylor and Allison.
